Taiwan has many advantages that other countries lack, such as high-quality human resources, a pragmatic and reliable culture among engineers, a well-developed industrial chain, highly flexible small and medium-sized enterprises, and a famous spirit of entrepreneurship.
In order to create a new model for economic development based on the core values of innovation, employment, and equitable distribution, Taiwan will prioritize plans to promote five major innovative industries. These include green energy, biotechnology, smart machinery, national defense, and the establishment of an Asian Silicon Valley. Taiwan will also create a good ecosystem for these five industries, whose innovations will stimulate the upgrading and transformation of Taiwan's economy. Through this, the government seeks to boost industrial competitiveness and improve corporate earnings, while simultaneously raising wages and stimulating employment.
The government intends to create an innovative ecosystem for the green energy industry by bringing together relevant industries, such as precision machinery, IoT, composite materials, and ICT.
In order to meet domestic green energy demand, the government will support the establishment of off-shore wind turbines and the solar energy industry, making green energy the next key industry and breaking into the international market.
Asian Silicon Valley
The Asian Silicon Valley plan aims to make Taiwan the Asian development hub for youth innovation and entrepreneurship by connecting famous science and industrial centers worldwide.
By transitioning from precision machinery to smart machinery, the government hopes to make Taiwan the top five manufacturing countries and the top three exporters in the world. This transformation and upgrade will create more employment opportunities, promote exports, and help solve social problems. It aims to establish a Global Smart Machinery Capital to spur development in central Taiwan.
By making international connections and integrating local innovation resources, the government plans to boost talent, funding, intellectual property, the regulatory environment, resource integration, and careful selection of topics for effectiveness. Through this, Taiwan will become the innovative Asia-Pacific Biomedical R&D Industrial Center.
